Courtney Love |
Courtney
Love is probably most famous for her combative assaultive persona, and her
marriage to Kurt Cobain. Aside
from that, in 1989 Courtney started her noisy abrasive alternative band, Hole, playing guitar and
vocals, with guitarist Eric Erlandson, bassist Jill Emery and drummer
Caroline Rue. |
Hole |
Hole has
experienced many re-assemblies, including replacements with bassist Kristen M
Pfaff, and drummer Patty Schemel, and again later with bassist
Melissa Auf Der Maur. During
their time, Hole have had
rocky periods, such as losing their second bassist Kristen M Pfaff (which
occurred just after Kurt Cobain’s suicide), due to a heroin overdose, and
their drummer Patty Schemel for unknown reasons, but have recorded some
fantastic albums, winning them numerous awards. Unfortunately,
Hole finally split up in
2003, but Courtney is continuing her musical career with her own solo
project. She recently released her first solo album “American Sweetheart”. |
